S- Sorry I haven't been on lately, I've been completelty immersed in the "Harry Potter" series by J.K. Rowling. Now if there is a person reading this who doesn't know about this tale, then that person is undoublelty living under a rock. So of course, this series follows young wizard Harry Potter on his journey thorugh Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and his experiences in numerous grave events in which he must save the day. These events include many that have to do with Voldemort, the Dark Lord. The same person who made Harry famous as a baby by killing his parents and being miracuously destroyed (for the time being) due to a death curse that backfired off of one-year old Harry's forehead: giving him the most well-known scar in the world. Mixed in with the exciting magic that everyone loves, there are underlying themes of good powering over evil, frienship, and loyalty. It's impossible to read this series and not feel impowered! THe writing quality is picture-oerfect, you are on the edge of you're seat for the majority of the books, and of course there are all of the super cool spells and creatures that shape the wizarding world. Now if I must say something negabtive about it, it's the first part of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". When you first pick it up, be prepared for a 20-30 page slump. It takes a little bit for the magic to kick in and for you to obtain of clear picture of what's going on. There is actually a lttle bit of dullness at the beginning of every one of the Harry Potter books (or at least the ones I have read so far), just know that once you tough it out there are hundreds of pages of excitement and amazement awaiting you! I am on book five out of seven, so hopefully I should wrap up the series before the end of summer. Can't wait to see how it ends!
