Fan-Fiction: The Solution to All Book-Nerd Problems

S- Hello! Sorry to have been offline for such a long tome, it has just been a very tedious, time-consuming, and exhausting year at school. However, I promise to try my absolute best to post consistently from now on, and according to the new schedule. Anyhow, I have recently been delving into another branch of fandom: fan-fiction. While it is indeed a way for masses of Beliebers to express their dreams of locking lips with the pop-star, it is also a way for book-nerds to alter their favorite tales in a way that makes them both happy and fulfilled. With fan-fiction, one can avenge the death of a beloved character (need I say-HARRY POTTER SPOILER ALERT- Dobby), create a crossover between two amazing stories (such as between The Hunger Games and Divergent), fulfill dreams of a never-occurring relationship (in my opinion, Harry and Hermione), and do endless more. This is equally beneficial for readers of it, allowing them to replace their dislikes about any story with the other versions of the fan-fiction writers. All of the feels felt can be comforted by a couple of short (and sometimes novel-length) stories. One also learns a lot whilst reading these fan-written tales. In the time I have been reading it, I have discovered the meaning of terms from whump (stories in which a character is physically or mentally hurt and later comforted) to Hinny (the relationship between Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley). This kind of information, while not likely to turn up on the SAT, is both fun to know and a great excuse to tell parents for reading (your are learning, after all). For both writers and readers, fan-fiction is a creative outlet and promises to fill the holes sometimes left in your heart by even the most amazing of books.

Here are some of the best fan-fiction sites that I have come across-
